GA.MA Professional Italy: The GA.MA Professional experience from the comfort of your own home.
Always wanted to prepare your own hair care products (AKA hair mask) or planning a fun activity with friends ? just keep reading ... ;)
If you have straight hair, you are at the right place and keep reading to know what you have to do to keep you dreamed hair.
You will want to pick a hair mask that will give extra shine to you hair and that makes your hair look glowy and healthy. you want a mask that will not weight your hair down AND that will add volume to it.
Prioritize using masks composed with coconut oil which keep your hair very straight and avoid frizz as well as giving a good hydration.
Finally keep in mind that the straighter and the thinner your hair is, the less product you should put on it, again to avoid weighing it down and to avoid to grease it up.
One key word: HYDRATION !!! I could not repeat it enough, the secret to bouncy curls is to keep your hair healthy which means hydrated.
Contrarily to straight hair, curly hair tends to be naturally dry thus you will want to privilege a hydrating mask with products that contains natural fat and proteins to nourish your hair. You should seek for honey, shea butter, and mango. If your hair is particularly dry you should look for a mask with argan oil. This will add flexibility to the hair and will not weigh down your curls.
Frizzy hair are usually also very thin and very dry. These hair tend to break very easily so you will seek for as much hydration as possible. So plant-based oils are highly recommended. Avocado oil and honey will become your new best friend as they will strengthen your hair as well as giving them all the hydration they need.
Now that you know all you need for your hair type, time to put your knowledge into practice:
Masks are way more important than conditioner: they fully hydrate the hair and should be done at least every week. It is recommended to use it between once and twice a week, depending on how dry the hair is.
If what you are looking for is to naturally lighten your hair to avoid chemicals, here is what you should be doing. It is also very important to be aware that even if you do not use chemicals to dye your hair, these ingredients will still bleach your hair and it will damage and dry them out. This being said, you should always follow these treatments by a deep moisturizing hair mask. I would highly suggest using an oil mask for 2 hours or even overnight!
My go-to recipe to lighten my hair is to mix Chamomile infused-water with lemon juice and honey. You can put this mixture in a spray container and spray over your hair once or twice a week and leave it in your hair for about one hour and let it dry in the sun.
This treatment is not instantaneous but a regular use of this mixture will definitely have visible effects within two weeks to one month.
Finally, here is a list of different ingredients to complete your DIY mask:
